Here is how fellow Avanut Wayne
describes the “conversation” between Vista and you (the user) when an app. decides to kick the bucket. I particularly like the last one. User: “This thing’s frozen.”
[Tries to close program using various keyboard and mouse actions.]
U: “Yep, totally wasted.”
[Task Manager displays]
U: “Kill this program.”
Computer: “Hey, uh, did you know that this program isn’t really responding? I think it might be frozen....
I was reading on something else and came across this and was quite bemused. Simple Nomad
is a hacker who loves Tea. For those who did not know, Tea is called “Chai” in Hindi so when you see “Chai Tea” somewhere (like Starsucks
) then that means “Tea Tea” which just sounds silly.
If you are a chai fan then the Indian “Masala Chai” is apparently the way to go (I am not a tea drinker so can’t say)....

Avanade in Netherlands went on a campus recruitment drive and seem like they are having too much fun
! In case you are like me and do not understand Dutch, then what it says is “Food for IT guys” and essentially was a marketing drive on various campuses where prospective interns for Avanade were offered some food (looks like chips) in exchange for their emails. I think the whole idea is just brilliant!...
Pretty hilarious (and probably true) - how the loo/restroom/bathroom signs should be
. 😄
You must have heard of the perpendicular storage now coming out - but how is this any good. To understand this listen to poor HDD sector explain it
- pretty cool.
I have been playing with some of the P2P stuff in .NET 3.5 and seems like to have missed the plot along the lines somewhere while debugging …. 😄

To laugh or to cry … that is the question.
… apparently I am after being featured in Avanade Advisor’s
[somewhat] cheesy video
. 😏
I guess the title says it all (via Lap

After running Vista x64 (since RTM back in November) on my laptop I have finally rolled back to Vista x32. I did not have any driver issues for the most part it was more of incompatibility of some x64 bit app’s.
Does remind me of this:

I stumbled across this BBC story
quite by accident - a driver taking a disused Boeing 737 seemed to get lost at night when transporting the plane when he reached a road with not enough road clearance and abandoned the plane in the middle of the road! This is quite funny though the poor guys who are inconvenienced by this would beg to differ.

One of my colleague, Brian, pointed out the Software Engineering Proverbs
- which are quite priceless. It sure does remind me of the Top 10 replies from a developer

This is a hilarious video of someone trying to write Perl using the speech recognition in Vista.
